Sindri Skarphéðinsson
working under the name Sindri Skarph

Born in Reykjavík, Iceland in 1990, and raised in Hafnarfjörður, Sindri Skarph is a photographer working across Europe.

His work moves between two parallel practices.

On one side, he develops large-scale, high-resolution works—carefully constructed images intended for exhibition and limited release. These pieces explore the underlying structures of modern life: the fragmentation of identity, the influence of collective trends, and the growing distance between individuals and their inner world.

Alongside this, Skarph maintains an ongoing body of observational work rooted in everyday environments. Through a more immediate and instinctive approach, he captures fleeting moments shaped by human behavior, subtle tension, and the unnoticed rhythms of contemporary life.

Together, these two practices form a dialogue between the constructed and the spontaneous—offering both controlled compositions and raw, unfiltered glimpses into the present.

Skarph is currently developing long-term projects across Iceland and Europe.

His work ranges from large-scale exhibition pieces to smaller archival prints, each carrying the same underlying inquiry into how we see, behave, and exist within the present moment.
