First off, my name is Sindri Skarphéðinsson.
About
Yeah I know the last name can be a handful so I had the idea to shorten
it and give me an artist’s name, so there you have it Sindri Skarph
Born in Reykjavík in the summer of 1990, and by my guess, the 1550th Icelandic person born that year.
I was raised in a town called Hafnarfjörður, located in the Capital area.
Currently working on long-term projects.
Now located somewhere in Europe (Lithuania, Hungary, Spain, and Iceland)
My interest in photography is to document day-to-day life as I see it.
From the ways, we divide ourselves, the consumption of trendy products
and how everyday norm seems to evolve rapidly.
And how our connection with our feelings and ourselves and others seem to be disrupted.
I do not limit my work to photography; I also make collages, lino prints, cut out, and other mixed media although these are usually not published publicly.
My Street Photography Journal or MSPJ
This is the publication name for my ever-ongoing street photography, In those, I publish photographs from a
single subject, location, or collection. The first publication was MSPJ RVK2020 which covered the strange new “norm”
we had in the first summer of the pandemic and how it affected
the capital of Reykjavík which has become a center for mass tourism and the color full raincoats that follow,
but at that time the tourist was completely unseen and the streets had a new feeling.

The project consists of different conditions and diverse presentations of the sea, from silent nights to dreamy colors, and howling winds.
